In 2022, the Mexican Football Federation draws inspiration from pre-Hispanic culture to go further than ever before.
Quetzalcoatl, a feathered neck and serpent body god, symbolizes the duality of human nature. The feathered neck represents the spirituality and the serpent body the human body with its limitations. An image is included on the back collar. The kit is inspired by the God, with a nod to copilli/penacho warrior headdress, to provide the players and the fans with spiritual strength.
The 2022 Mexico Home Jersey marks the debut of the new Federation badge. The eagle is inspired by Aztec art, the shape is taken from the Aztec Sun Stone, plus retro text.
